“The observance of the moments of silence envisioned by the liturgy is of great importance.” Papal instruction about the liturgy. What we say at Mass is important, but more important is listening to what God says. Silence during the mass is our invitation to listen to what the Lord is saying to us in this most wonderful sacrament. Fr. Bobby "Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 |
The desert and the parched land will exult; the steppe will rejoice and bloom. They will bloom with abundant flowers and rejoice with joyful song. Every year I am amazed at the transformation of our hills, as they go from California “golden” to a green that hints at Ireland. This comes from both the seeds lying in the ground and the life-giving power of the rain from above. Rain has always been a powerful symbol of God’s grace and its power to transform our lives. As we continue our Advent journey toward Christmas, I pray we will allow that grace of God to fall upon us and bring forth the beauty the Lord has planted within.
Thank you so much to all who attended our Christmas tea, and to all those who worked so hard to make it happen. These events are expressions of the love that God has planted in us and the joy of being His People. May the Lord bless and keep you always! Fr. Bobby
"Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn't do this by magic, with special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the faces of those at our side." Pope Francis
“It is not enough to say we are Christians. We must live the faith not only with words but with our actions” - Pope Francis
Pope Francis: Remember the spiritual as much as the corporal works of mercy
@ArchbishopGomez: Friends, we need to practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy - seeking contact with our Lord through serving others.
