“The observance of the moments of silence envisioned by the liturgy is of great importance.” Papal instruction about the liturgy. What we say at Mass is important, but more important is listening to what God says. Silence during the mass is our invitation to listen to what the Lord is saying to us in this most wonderful sacrament. Fr. Bobby
"Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
It is Christ whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. This is how St. Paul described his ministry. This is also what motivated St. Lawrence of Brindisi, a Capuchin saint whose feastday is (July 21). St. Lawrence, after whom San Lorenzo Novitiate is named, was a great man of prayer and preaching. We ask him to guide and bless our community here at the Mission. We also pray for our 13 new novices who will receive the Capuchin habit today at San Lorenzo.
I will be away on vacation until mid-August. Please keep me in your prayers and know you will be in mine. God bless and keep you always! Fr. Bobby
"Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn't do this by magic, with special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the faces of those at our side." Pope Francis
@ArchbishopGomez: Friends, we need to practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy - seeking contact with our Lord through serving others.
