Bereavement and Funerals

"Blessed are those who mourn, they shall be comforted."  Matthew 5:5

Our pastoral team is available to offer comfort and support and assistance to families in planning funeral Masses, memorial services, Vigils and/or rosaries for their deceased loved ones. Priests and our office staff and volunteers consult with the family and offer a gentle, supportive presence while assisting with preparation plans for the funeral Mass including the selection of readings and music, coordination with the mortuary, assist the Presider (priest), the family and guests at the funeral Mass or Memorial Service, and continue to stay in touch with the family after the Funeral.

In time of need, the pastoral team at Old Missions Santa Inés is available to you and your family to guide and assist you with planning your loved one's funeral Mass.  Please telephone our office at 688-4815 for more information. A priest will contact you.

Because of our belief not only in the immortality of the soul, but also in the resurrection of the body, the Church professes hope in the face of death, and acts with charity in the funeral rites. The Church provides a number of prayers for the faithful to offer both to accompany the dying of a loved one and to strengthen our faith upon their death. Through private prayer and public funeral rites, we strengthen our faith and hope, comfort those who mourn, and bury the bodily remains of the deceased with care befitting what was the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

In this way, we comfort those who mourn, and bury the bodily remains of the deceased with care befitting what was the Temple of the Holy Spirit.                          Source: http://www.usccb.org/
