Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus...for it is God who is at work in you. Philippians 2: 5-13
The meaning of Pastoral care comes from the meaning of shepherd and suggests the work of the shepherd with the flock. That is why Cannon Law speaks of Pastoral Care as a necessary service for parish life.
The Pastoral Care Ministries at Old Mission Santa Inés bring the parish community to those who, in the short term, have become sick, have had a mishap, have suffered a loss or are incarcerated. They also assist parishioners are no longer able to attend mass on a regular basis. Our Pastoral Care Ministers serve in supportive and practical ways such as visits, bringing Communion, praying with, providing meals, as well as supplying parish literature and news of events and activities.
Because of privacy laws, Old Mission Santa Inés parish is not notified if a parishioner is hospitalized, home bound, or enters a health care facility. We must hear from the parishioner, family member, or friend if someone wishes the support of our pastoral care team. You may call the Parish Office at 688-4815 or complete the Contact Us form so that we can hear from you by email.
