Weekly Message
Holy Week is not only the remembrance of events in the life of Jesus; it is the revelation of the pattern of every human life. The Human Journey Transfigured in Christ.
On Palm Sunday, we see a truth about the human condition: we long for recognition and meaning. Like the crowds crying “Hosanna,” we experience moments when life seems full, when we are seen and celebrated. Yet, beneath this, there is always a deeper call. Jesus enters Jerusalem knowing that glory is fleeting. The human heart, if it is honest, senses that applause cannot fulfill its deepest longing. We are made not for passing praise, but for a greater destiny. On Holy Thursday, we encounter another dimension of our existence: the need to love and to be in communion. In the Eucharist, Jesus transforms the ordinary elements of bread and wine into a lasting presence—suggesting that human life itself finds meaning when it becomes a gift. In the washing of the feet, He reveals that true greatness lies not in being served, but in serving. Here we see that the fulfillment of our humanity is not in possessing, but in self-giving. On Good Friday, we face the most difficult truth: love is vulnerable. To love deeply is to risk rejection, misunderstanding, and suffering. Every human life, at some point, encounters the cross—moments when goodness seems defeated, when sacrifice appears meaningless. The Cross unveils the paradox at the heart of existence: that what appears as loss can become the place of deepest meaning. Yet, this is not the end. Easter is not simply an event; it is the ultimate horizon of human existence. It proclaims that death does not have the final word, that love is not in vain, and that the deepest movements of the human heart—toward truth, goodness, and communion—are not illusions. In the Resurrection, what is fragile is made eternal. Thus, Holy Week reveals that our lives are not random or fragmented experiences. They follow a hidden path: from longing to self-gift, to suffering, and finally to transformation. Let us walk this journey consciously with Christ. In Christ, |
