The story of Emmaus reminds us of a profound truth: the Gospel was not born in comfort, nor confined to a synagogue or a church building. It unfolded on the road. From Bethlehem to Calvary, from Calvary to Emmaus, and beyond—the Gospel journeyed through dusty paths, uncertain roads, and human hearts searching for meaning, and it is being written even now. The Gospel grows in the real conditions of life. The Gospel still travels and it is moving.
Have you ever thought that your life is part of this Gospel journey? If life is a road—and it truly is—then each of us is writing our own “gospel” through the way we live. Not a Gospel to replace Scripture, but a living testimony of Christ’s presence in our daily lives.
We are on a journey that cannot be reversed. Every step matters. Every encounter shapes us. Along this road, we learn to love, to forgive, to believe, to reconcile. Sometimes, we also encounter failure, hurt, and even moments of darkness—but these too become places where Christ can walk with us.
The question is: do we recognize Him? Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we may not always see Him clearly. Yet He walks beside us, speaks to us in the Word, and reveals Himself in the breaking of the bread.
So today, take a moment to reflect: What have I learned on the road of my life? What story am I writing? Do I allow the Risen Christ to walk with me? Let us invite the Risen Lord to journey with us. Let us write stories of faith, hope, and love. And let our lives become a living witness that the Gospel is still alive—still being written—on the road.
