Weekly Message from our Pastor, Fr. Michael Ronayne
At a recent funeral, a spouse gave a beautiful tribute in honor of his deceased wife. He explained that his wife inspired him to be a better person. Her example lifted him up and motivated him to be more like her. That is the goal of Lent. Giving up chocolate or cleaning out the garage are useful sacrifices, but Lent calls for something deeper and long-lasting. It needs to reach into our hearts. A renewed heart moves us to be better people-not just for the 40 days of Lent. Hopefully, Lent helps us to obey God more fully and serve others more generously. Jesus wants to lift us up to a better life. Do we see our lives improving? We still have two weeks to sprout up! Fr. Mike Ronayne |
