“The observance of the moments of silence envisioned by the liturgy is of great importance.” Papal instruction about the liturgy. What we say at Mass is important, but more important is listening to what God says. Silence during the mass is our invitation to listen to what the Lord is saying to us in this most wonderful sacrament. Fr. Bobby
"Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
“Whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Watching our hills turn green, seeing the wildflowers grow, rejoicing as Lake Cachuma fills again, we understand the power of water, how essential it is to life. But we need to drink pure water, both for our bodies and for our souls. Lent is a time to seek the refreshing water we find in the sacred scriptures or good spiritual books (and we can also listen to these through podcasts and other means). May we all drink of the good water God gives us and find renewed beauty and life in our midst!
Welcome once more to Fr. Reynaldo, who will share this weekend about his work as a chaplain for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. Let us support him with our prayers, and also the FOCUS missionaries who are working this year at UC Santa Barbara.
God bless and keep you! Fr. Bobby
"Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn't do this by magic, with special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the faces of those at our side." Pope Francis
@ArchbishopGomez: Friends, we need to practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy - seeking contact with our Lord through serving others.
