Rosary for Life

One of the prayer ministries at Old Mission Santa Inés is to pray the Rosary for Life after each weekday mass. The Rosary for Life is a prayer crusade to save the unborn and other lives at risk by restoring a culture of respecting life in the United States and the world.

Since Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the United States under the title of the Immaculate Conception, she is both the Patroness of the Americas and Patroness of the Unborn. Prayers are directed to Our Lady under these titles for her intercession. Through the power of the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplets, intentions are prayerfully lifted up.

St. Dominic received the rosary from the Blessed Virgin in a vision in 1208. Mary told the great saint that the rosary was a "weapon the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world."  Since that time, the power of praying the Rosary has been seen many times in many cultures and countries.

The Rosary is the 'weapon' for these times according to St. Padre Pio.
