Welcome from Fr. Mike

Fr. Michael Ronayne, OFM Cap.
Pastor

On behalf of the Capuchin Friars, Fr. Bob, Fr. Moses and Fr. Peter, it is a privilege to welcome you to Old Mission Santa Inés, “The Mission of the Passes” located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, California.

Together with the Sisters Devoted to the Sacred Heart, our goal is to deepen your spiritual life in the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church in the spirit of our founders, St. Francis of Assisi and Sr. Ida Peterfy.

With a storied history dating back to 1804, the Capuchin Franciscan Friars have shepherded the Catholic community in the valley since 1924.  As a vibrant parish of both English and Hispanic communities, I invite you to explore the many liturgical and apostolic opportunities that Old Mission Santa Ines has to offer you and your family.

Old Mission Santa Inés has been beautifully preserved in its original 1804 mission-style and offers a museum rich in the antiquities of the early Franciscans and California life. Gifts from our Museum Gift Shop will deepen the meaning of your visit for years to come.

Whether you are Christian or not, a regular communicant or searcher of the truth, know that you are most welcome to Old Mission Santa Inés.

Let me close by assuring you and your loved ones of a remembrance in the prayers of the friars and sisters.

Take care, and God bless,
Fr. Mike, OFM Cap.
